Triton Police Interceptor

A variant of the Aries planetary rocket the Triton saw sporadic use throughout the 27th and 28th centuries as in-system police craft. They were retrofitted with two additional neutron rockets, which greatly increased their acceleration and top speed, as well as a dorsal-mounted proton lance and wing mounted Mark III proton cannons. They also featured a new nose-mounted sensor array that was far more sensitive than anything the original Aries hull featured. Use of these craft, which were in essence refitted versions of pleasure and light commerce vessels, was seen as a radical departure from the use of large, heavy "space only" rockets that typically filled out the roster of intra-solar police force motor pools.
