Constructed before the Arcadia or Cavalier class ships of the line the Corsair was widely considered to be the best design ever to come out of Concordia Shipyards. Unlike most vessels which were built with very rigid operational parameters in mind the Corsair class was one of the most versatile ships to ever see service in the Imperium’s fleet. Their unique triple-pylon design allowed a multitude of mission-specific equipment to be attach to the ship; everything from weapons to sensor pods, additional thrusters, cargo containers, passenger compartments to aid in evacuations, and even tungsten rods for orbital kinetic strikes. In addition, the pylons served as massive heat-sinks for the Corsair’s severely overpowered reactor and engines.
